The Design Director shall be reporting to  Director and will be responsible for overall design and technical delivery of this artificial lake. His role will involve managing all the design aspects of the project and coordination with the internal design teams.

Responsibility for the success of the project from a technical and programme perspective. You will oversee the design office and be based in NEOM. He / she is also responsible for maintaining technical standards, as well as providing effective management and guidance to the technical delivery team.

You will manage the setup of all design management systems and documents, ensures technical staff are appointed and roles and responsibilities of each team member is well defined and reporting lines and communications is established. Responsible for successful delivery of the project in accordance with the scope of works from inception to final implementation including quality, time, cost and technical alignment with client sectors and procedures.

Key Accountabilities

• Provide management and governance of the design team to achieve reliable project performance in terms of design solutions, timeliness and quality
• Source, build and maintain strong and effective client, stakeholders and internal team relationships
• Provide leadership to e engineering managers, leads and employees on the project to ensure project team technical and staff cohesion, optimal performance, resourcing, retention and professional development

Key Activities

• Oversee
• Mitigate risk on projects through risk identification and implementation of the BMS system, Work, Health and Safety, commercial, legal and financial management practices
• Project planning and programming to meet time constraints including preparing specifications, proposals, reports and other documentation to meet client requirements
• Use a combination of standard and modified Project Control methods/techniques in addition to those developed in previous assignments
• Provide oversight and governance of projects to resolve project issues and ensure project product is of high quality
• Selection and management of teams with the skills necessary to deliver the project
• Provide coaching and support to project employees
• Facilitate technical problem solving
• Participate in planning to achieve prescribed objectives Key Outcomes:
• The standards of quality, time and financial objectives are achieved or exceeded
• Variations are submitted effectively and accepted by the client
• Any material issues (potential PI claims) are reported promptly to Regional Director level
• Project terms of reference (TOR) are delivered without over servicing
• Documentation complies with technical standards, HSEQ requirements
• Resources and processes for managing WHS are used effectively
• Information about WHS performance and incidents is reported and acted on in a timely way
• Company assurance processes to review and improve effectiveness of project WHS management are supported
• Source, build and maintain strong and effective client relationships through targeted activities

Key Activities

• Ensure interfaces with Client and third-party stakeholders are managed in a proactive and timely manner
• Develop and integrate within the delivery stream the relevant integration processes, reviews and approval procedures required
• Involvement in the monitoring of client relationship health and discuss with the appropriate stakeholders
• Identify and build relationships with stakeholders creative solutions to meet client needs
• Ensure tender submissions are of high quality Key Outcomes:
• WER submissions are scoped effectively and require minimal unexpected changes to project scope once won
