Design & Build experience is ESSENTIAL.
Roles and Responsibilities of Required Project Quantity Surveyor
Required Level – Mid Level / Senior Level Quantity Surveyor Qualification – Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying UAE Experience – 3 Years in Design and Build Interior Fit-out Construction Company (Experience in Dubai is preferred) Total Experience – 5 Years (Including UAE Experience)
Knowledge:
Excellent drawings reading skills.
Excellent knowledge of ID works specifications.
Good knowledge of MEP Works.
Good knowledge of AutoCAD and PlanSwift.
Good knowledge of MS Office package in general and should be proficient in MS Excel.
Good knowledge of local authority requirements.
Good knowledge of the Interior Design industry and latest material trends in the market.
Staying aware of the latest construction technologies.
Job Description:
Cost Estimation and Budgeting
Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, equipment, and labour required for construction projects.
Develop and maintain budgets throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring expenditures remain within budgetary limits.
Procurement and Contracts
Manage procurement processes, including sourcing suppliers and subcontractors.
Prepare and review contract documents, ensuring they are in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Negotiate contracts and terms with vendors and subcontractors to secure favourable pricing and terms.
Measurement and Valuation
Measure and value the work done on-site, including variations and interim valuations.
Assess and certify payments to contractors based on work completed and materials delivered.
Cost Control and Monitoring
Monitor project progress against budgeted costs and timelines.
Identify potential cost overruns or savings opportunities and provide recommendations to the project team.
Risk Management
Identify and analyse project risks related to cost, quality, and time.
Develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure they are incorporated into project planning and execution.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate records of all quantities, costs, payments, and variations.
Prepare regular reports for project stakeholders on cost status, financial forecasts, and variances from budgets.
Dispute Resolution
Assist in resolving disputes that arise regarding quantities, costs, or contracts.
Provide expertise in arbitration, mediation, or litigation processes if disputes escalate.
Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and objectives.
Communicate effectively with all parties involved in the project to ensure clarity and understanding of financial and contractual matters.
Compliance
Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations, building codes, and other legal requirements.
Stay updated on industry standards, best practices, and regulatory changes affecting quantity surveying.
Continuous Improvement
Continuously evaluate and improve processes related to cost management, procurement, and contract administration.
Seek opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness in quantity surveying practices.
