Senior Leadership appointment
Our client is seeking a General Manager overseeing the
Ready Mix Division. The General Manager will lead and manage the division's resources, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality objectives.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Hierarchy and Structure Responsibilities
- The General Manager shall report to the CEO.
- All Employees under the Ready-mix division shall report to the General Manager.
- Coordinate and cooperate with other company divisions in matters of mutual official interests through Board Guidance.
Main Responsibilities
The main duties of the General Manager are as follows, and not limited to,
Finance
- The division must maintain its cash flow without burdening the organization's lines of credit.
- To submit the annual budget to the CFO in November of each year for approval. The annual budget must consist of the following categories:
- Sales budget
- Cost budget
- Cash flow budget
- Capital Budget
- Manpower plan
- To comply with the preapproved budgets set for the year. Variances exceeding 5% of the budget must be communicated to management in the following MIS statement, with the reasons for the variation justified.
- All concrete mix rates must include a standard margin on material (MOM). The MOM must include all costs other than the raw material cost. (Total mix cost = Current Material costs as per standard mixed design + Margin on material)
- Cost control, development and management of expenses per cubic meter
- Daily management of all financial transactions (cash flow, etc.).
- Manage with the Board financing lines, payment terms, or any obligation towards the mother company.
- Comply with the credit policy of the company set by the Board.
- Maintain a positive EBITDA for the company to be eligible for a bonus.
- To adequately maintain the full assets of the ready-mix division.
Sales & Marketing
- Maintain market share in the market and grow it.
- Build and manage yearly sales plans and submit them for budgeting.
- Manage and lead the sales team towards achieving company goals
- To ensure that policies are in place for efficient and effective delivery without any delays to customers or intercompany divisions.
- To take proactive measures if any salesman fails to comply with the pre-approved sales budget.
- Maintain and enhance the company's image in the market through various marketing activities.
- Lead and advise in the tendering process for ready-mix jobs.
- Building relationships with Developers and architects. Contractors, Ministries, etc.
- To maintain Proper records and ensure receipt of full payment of contracts.
- Establish a Pricing Policy and market penetration plan. (Total mix cost = Current Material costs as per standard mixed design + Margin on material)
Operations & Supply Chain
- Manage and lead daily schedules with related departments and ensure smooth delivery and execution of bookings.
- Build a strong distribution network all over the country by developing a deep relationship with the suppliers.
- Organize all the raw materials and keep the optimum inventory level to meet the planned volume.
- Manage the Maintenance team and lead asset inspection report (Daily) and preventive maintenance schedule.
Quality and Quality Assurance
- Lead and manage technical team and business leaders regarding new technology opportunities and product development.
- To maintain and continually develop an efficient quality control system for ready-mix production in line with the latest technologies.
- To comply with relevant product specifications, mix design, planning and scheduling transportation and delivery of ready mix to sites, pay site visits, forecasting raw material requirements, etc.
- Responsible for the preparation and formulation of Concrete mix designs to suit project specification requirements.
- To ensure that concrete mix designs are as per approved standards and in full compliance with best engineering and Ministry Standards.
- All concrete mixes must be as per the Ministry Standards and/ or approved mix designs provided by the customers to avoid Management/Director liability.
- To ensure that all processes are complied with according to ISO standards.
- To ensure observance of high safety and security standards in ready-mix divisions & sites.
- Responsible for all safety-related issues in the Ready-mix plants and the various Ready-mix-related sites.
HR and Administration
- Assessment of division employees regularly.
- Manage and lead all (hiring/replacement/Firing) processes.
- Build company KPIs and cascade them down to sections and employees.
- Build the company Balance Scorecard.
- Develop a performance bonus schema that matches the sales plan.
- Restructure the company structure to adapt to market changes and be agile.
- To identify training requirements to bring all staff/labor to the required level of competence expected for the effective operation of their daily responsibilities.
- To ensure that the optimal level of employees (both workers and staff) is employed without causing either a shortage or a surplus in manpower.
- To ensure that there are processes and procedures in place to maintain the safety of all workers in the factory and on the site.
- Coordinate with HR Manager to ensure that proactive measures are taken against employees who fail to comply with set policies and procedures.
- Update and enhance IT systems in place to develop reports needed and ensure that the IT system is transparent, accurate, and complete.
The General Manager's working hours shall be as required to carry out his full responsibilities & duties, and shall be in accordance with the labor law.
