ICT Manager - Tier Building Contractor (urgent)
Our client is a local Arabic contractor. They have been established for over 40 years and have built many of Dubai's highrise towers across the marina, business bay and downtown. They specialise in super high rise structures.
Job Purpose
Own the ICT strategy, infrastructure, and digital systems across head office and multiple live construction sites, ensuring technology supports project delivery, safety, and compliance at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Operations
- Manage corporate network, servers, cloud platforms, and site-based IT setups (temporary site offices, cabins, hoardings with connectivity)
- Oversee hardware lifecycle: laptops, tablets, site devices, mobile data solutions
- Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery planning
Construction-Specific Systems
- Administer common data environments (CDE) and BIM platforms (e.g. Autodesk Construction Cloud, Viewpoint, Asite)
- Support project controls software — scheduling, cost management, document control
- Roll out digital QA/QC and site inspection tools (e.g. Fieldwire, Procore, Sitemate)
- Integrate systems across design, construction, and handover phases
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Implement security policy meeting client requirements (often including Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO 27001, and government/MOD standards for public sector work)
- Manage data protection compliance (GDPR) across projects with multiple subcontractors and consultants
- Control access permissions across a large, distributed workforce
Governance & Strategy
- Sit on senior/regional management team, reporting on digital transformation initiatives
- Set and manage the ICT budget across multiple concurrent projects
- Lead vendor and managed service provider relationships
- Develop ICT policies and standard operating procedures company-wide
Team Leadership
- Manage IT support staff and/or coordinate with outsourced helpdesk providers
- Provide training to project teams on digital tools
- Act as escalation point for critical IT issues affecting live sites
Requirements
- Degree in IT/Computer Science or equivalent experience
- UAE experience, MUST be based in the UAE currently to attend interview
- 5+ years IT management experience, ideally within construction, engineering, or infrastructure
- Must have worked for a building contractor in the UAE
- Experience managing IT across multiple, geographically dispersed sites
